IMPLICATED IN BEAUTY

We each have an individual life to live that no one else can fully shape or govern. We also have a collective, communal life amongst others. These two intersect in our moral stance. Do you have a personal moral code? What is the theme of your relationships with yourself and others? Do they purposely breathe out beauty and goodness into the world?

In order to keep life lovely, we must take possession of our moral choices and

consciously choose the best. Moral courage, compassion,  self control, affection, honesty, unselfishness, these are some of the qualities that, incorporated into daily activities, enhance relationships and the ability to work in concert with others.

ARE YOU WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?

Can you find yourself in the Bible?

Are you Abraham, feeling a pull to leave the same old/same old drudgery of meaningless work and find a new path? You, too, have a wide-open, fresh, and original life awaiting you in a new land of infinite opportunity. You can look north, south, east, and west, from your new viewpoint and find that all that you see is yours.

Can you find yourself?

Can you find yourself?

Are you Jacob, wrestling with a worried version of yourself that is not satisfied and feels up against a wall?

I’VE GOT YOUR BACK

Do you ever get the feeling that there is something out there that can “get you?” Sometimes people fear accidents, disease, dangerous people, or financial and physical disasters. It seems like these might just sneak up on you and get you.  A comforting thought about this from the Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Begotten is old fashioned language referring to conception and birth. But it literally  means, “to get or obtain by effort.”

Let’s get clear right up front that procrastination is actually a form of fear. It is the human mind avoiding something it fears or dislikes.

Jesus once asked this incisive question:
“What think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to-day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Which of the two did the will of his father?” *

Is Jesus saying it it is better to change your mind and do work that needs doing, even if it’s late, rather than simply not to do what you say you will?  The saying, “Better late than never” comes from this short parable.
